University of Queensland Tennis Court Project

Sports Facilities & Smart Control Systems
Hero background

The University of Queensland Tennis Court Project exemplifies how intelligent control systems can transform sports facilities into smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly environments. S4i delivered a fully integrated lighting and booking solution that unified software, system design, and real-time dashboards into one cohesive platform.

At the heart of the project was a custom web-based dashboard designed specifically for the University’s 17-court facility. It provided real-time lighting scene control across more than 70 luminaires, synchronised seamlessly with UQ Sport’s existing booking platform through the S4i Scheduling Engine. This integration ensured that each court’s lighting automatically responded to bookings—activating the correct lighting mode for training, competition, or standby—without the need for manual operation.

The result is a streamlined operational workflow where energy efficiency, automation, and user accessibility converge. The system not only reduces energy waste but also simplifies day-to-day management by aligning lighting use directly with facility activity. With live status monitoring and intuitive user interfaces, the University’s staff and players benefit from a smarter, more sustainable, and effortless control experience.

This project reinforces S4i’s leadership in smart sports facility solutions—combining advanced control systems, data-driven automation, and long-term support to enhance performance and sustainability across every level of operation.
